| PICMET'04 Symposium in Korea |
In
response to an increasing number of requests from our colleagues from
around the world
for the expansion of PICMET (Portland International Conference on Management of Engineering
and Technology) beyond the biennial
Portland conference, the PICMET Board of Directors has decided to take
several initiatives that we are implementing now.
One of these initiatives is the addition of a non-Portland location for a
PICMET
Symposium in the even numbered years.
I am pleased to announce that PICMET'04 Symposium will be held on July 31-
August 4, 2004 in Seoul, Korea. STEPI
(Science and Technology Policy Institute) is the
co-host of PICMET'04.
The theme of PICMET'04 is Innovation Management in the Technology-Driven
World. The critical issues in managing technological innovations will be
addressed by
workshops, plenaries, research papers, applications papers, panel
discussions
and tutorials.
Deadline for abstracts (up to 200-words long) is January 12, 2004.
Submissions
can be made at www.picmet.org.
The venue is the Ritz Carlton Hotel in the bustling new and modern section
of
Seoul. The participants will enjoy the world-renown Ritz hospitality.
We are expecting top quality presentations in a dynamic environment for
plenty
of networking opportunities in the PICMET tradition. Being at the center
of an
exciting region of the world with technological advances and innovations
taking
place in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, India and the
Southeast
Asian countries among others, PICMET'04 will be an intellectually
invigorating
forum for leading researchers, educators, industry representatives
and government
officials to discuss technology management.
